NARSAD Grantee Leads New Study Proving Efficacy of TMS for Depression

Transcranial magnetic stimulation continues to show great promise in the treatment of major depressive disorder. It was FDA cleared in 2008 and research on the efficacy and uses of TMS has continued. NARSAD Grantee Linda Carpenter, M.D. has recently authored a study which shows for the first time that TMS is an effective treatment for depression in real-life clinical practice settings.

In this new study, Dr. Carpenter and her colleagues reviewed outcomes data from 307 patients, from 42 clinical TMS practice sites and concluded the efficacy of transcranial magnetic stimulation in the treatment of depression.

The TMS Center of Colorado, LLC was the first facility to offer the FDA cleared Neurostar TMS treatment therapy for major depressive disorders in Colorado. Our offices are located in Denver. Please contact our center for additional information or evaluation.
